Beliora Terms of Service
Effective date: June 10, 2026
These terms are a contract between you and Synth Layer LLC, a Wyoming (United States) limited liability company operating Beliora (“Beliora”, “we”, “us”), covering the Beliora iOS app and the beliora.app website (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. We’ve tried to write them in plain language — there is no fine print here that we hope you won’t read.
Questions: support@beliora.app.
1. What Beliora is — and what it is not
Beliora is an AI-assisted self-help tool for emotional wellbeing. It offers conversations with an AI grounded in psychodynamic and person-centered therapeutic practice, a diary with emotion analysis, mood check-ins, and insights that connect your Apple Health data (sleep, heart rate, HRV, activity) to your emotional state.
Being honest about the boundaries matters more here than anywhere else:
- Beliora is not medical care and not licensed psychotherapy. The responses you receive are generated by artificial intelligence, not by a human clinician, and no therapist–patient relationship is created by using the Service.
- Beliora does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or mental health condition, and nothing in the Service is medical advice. Scores, analyses and insights are informational self-help tools, not clinical assessments.
- Beliora is not a substitute for professional care. If you have, or suspect you have, a mental health condition, please involve a qualified professional. Never disregard professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something Beliora said.
- Beliora is not a crisis service. It is not monitored by humans in real time and cannot call for help on your behalf.
If you are in crisis — if you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or are in immediate danger — stop using the app and call your local emergency number (for example 911 in the US, 112 in the EU) or a crisis hotline right away. The app will also surface these resources if it detects you may be struggling, but your safety must never depend on an app.
AI makes mistakes. Responses can be inaccurate, incomplete, or a poor fit for your situation. Use your own judgment, and bring anything important to a human you trust.
2. Who can use Beliora
You must be at least 16 years old. By using the Service you confirm that you are. If you are under 18, please involve a parent or guardian in the decision to use a mental wellbeing app. We may suspend accounts that we reasonably believe belong to people under 16 (see also our age screening in onboarding).
You also need an Apple ID and an iOS device that meets the app’s requirements.
3. Your account
Keep your credentials to yourself; you’re responsible for activity under your account. Give us accurate information, and tell us promptly at support@beliora.app if you believe your account has been compromised. One account per person — your therapy plan only makes sense that way.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Data & Account. What happens to your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Subscriptions, billing and refunds
Parts of the Service require a paid subscription (Beliora Premium). Current standard prices:
- $14.99 per week
- $39.99 per month
- $359.99 per year
Local prices may vary by country and are always shown in the app before you buy. Some plans may include a free trial; the trial’s length and terms are shown at purchase, and any unused trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
The mechanics, in plain words:
- Billing is handled entirely by Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. We never see your card details.
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the price shown for your plan unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancel anytime: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions (or App Store → your profile → Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. After cancellation you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Refunds are issued by Apple, not by us, under Apple’s policies: request one at https://reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t grant or deny App Store refunds ourselves, though we’ll gladly help you navigate the process.
- We may change prices or plans going forward; changes never apply retroactively, and Apple notifies you before a renewal at a higher price, with the option to cancel first.
5. Acceptable use
Beliora is a personal wellbeing tool. You agree not to:
- use it for anything unlawful, or to harm, harass, or defraud anyone;
- attempt to access other users’ data, probe, overload, or disrupt our systems, or circumvent usage limits or paywalls;
- reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the Service, or use it to build a competing product or to train AI models;
- impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation;
- use Beliora to generate or spread content that is illegal or abusive;
- resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written agreement.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules — where reasonable, we’ll warn you first.
6. Your content and our license to it
Everything you write or say in Beliora — session messages, diary entries, check-ins — remains yours. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host and process this content for one purpose: operating the Service for you (including processing through our AI providers, as described in the Privacy Policy). The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for short-lived backups and what the law requires us to keep.
We do not use your content for advertising and do not train foundation models on it.
The Service itself — the app, design, name, and everything that isn’t your content — is ours or our licensors’ and is protected by intellectual property law. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on your Apple devices, per these Terms and Apple’s standard EULA terms.
7. Privacy
How we handle your data — including Apple Health data, voice, and AI processing — is described in the Privacy Policy. It’s part of the deal between us, and it’s worth reading.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your circumstances. Health-derived scores and insights depend on the quality of data from your devices and are estimates, not measurements of medical truth.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service;
- our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service is capped at the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim;
- we are not liable for decisions you make based on AI-generated content, or for events arising from your reliance on the Service in place of professional care — see Section 1, which exists precisely so this never happens.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence where such limits are not permitted.
10. Termination
You can stop using Beliora and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if we’re legally required to, or if we discontinue the Service — in the last case we’ll give you reasonable notice so you can export your data. Sections that by their nature should survive (6, 8, 9, 11) survive termination.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state and federal courts located in Wyoming — except where the consumer protection law of your country of residence gives you mandatory rights and venues, which remain unaffected. Let’s be honest, though: if something’s wrong, email support@beliora.app first. Almost everything can be fixed faster than a lawsuit.
12. Changes to the Service or these Terms
Beliora will evolve — features will be added, changed, and occasionally removed. We may update these Terms as the Service or the law changes; if a change meaningfully affects your rights, we’ll notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms; if you don’t, stop using the Service and delete your account (and, if relevant, cancel your subscription with Apple).
13. The boring-but-necessary bits
If part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision isn’t a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale, with notice to you. These Terms, plus the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about the Service. Apple is not a party to these Terms and isn’t responsible for the Service, but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of Section 6’s license terms and may enforce them.
